📣 REAL TALK

I stopped posting on STRAVA for two weeks. I actually love STRAVA; it’s functionalities, the ability to build community, and all the great things the app does to further the sport. BUT, sometimes it can be quite a tough space to be in.

I find comparison is the first action presented, instead of celebration. I see PRs not just the hard work. I see my short comings more easily than my achievements. A lot of that is a me thing too.

So I took a little break from sharing my runs. It was sooooooo refreshing.

👉Ultimately it has begged the question of me… WHAT DO I DO THIS FOR. Why do I choose to move?

👉 Someone else’s achievements are not the degradation of my own

👉 See how far I have come, not how far I still need to go

👉 The hard runs and the hard sessions are as important as the great ones

👉 Choosing to move is ALWAYS inspiring and it is something I never regret

👉 You are the most important person in your journey

👉 There is always someone, and others, that are better than you, so try run in your own lane, and not in someone theirs

👉 Enjoy the Journey, because that’s the moment you spend the most time in

Moving forward, these are the mindset shifts I am reminding myself of. Comparison will always be there, so it will take a lot of practice to remind myself of the important stuff. Hope this helps anyone who feels the same.

S: Not me saying 3 courses: a crunchy Asian slaw salad starter, some fantastic creamy pasta main, and a hot baked desert with ice cream 🥹

OATS SEASON IS UPON US. Here is my favourite pink oats 🥣🫐

Serves 2

Ingredients:
* 1 cup rolled oats
* 2 cups of water (or there about)
* 1/2 cup of plant milk/ cow milk
* 1/2 cup of mixed berries (frozen or fresh)

Method:
* bring oats, water and milk to simmer and add in your berries and cook until the oats are soft (desired consistency)
* stir in protein
* add your toppings

Option: scoop of protein per serving

Toppings:

“Caramel sauce” 1 tsp almond butter/nut butter with 1tsp of maybe syrup and a few drops of water”
Any extra berries/ nuts and things you like 💜

Perform between 10-15 reps depending on your strength level (pick up moderate weights where possible) repeat x3-4

1. Crawl out to push-up / just push ups (knees/toes/elevated)
2. Bent over rows
3. Bicep curls
4. Bear Crawl step backs
5. tricep over head extension
6. Side plank variation (opt. 30-60s)

Make the most of each movement, each rep, stay focused, keep the core tension and challenge yourself a little 🫡
